FAME-Seeds of Faith, Inc. (SOF), a non-profit multicultural outreach learning center, incorporated in November 2000. The organization was first formed by First African Methodist Episcopal Church-Pasadena which has served the greater Pasadena area for more than 124 years.
SOF works closely with community and faith-based organizations in an effort to reach out and identify with families in Altadena and Northwest Pasadena that can benefit from our services, with collaborative arrangements formed with Pasadena City College, Pasadena Unified School District, and First African Methodist Episcopal Church-Pasadena. SOF had a growing concern for the community residents who did not possess adequate skills to become gainfully employed especially in the computer related industry.
To boldly address this concern, it was decided that something had to help change this situation. The concept was developed to have outreach programs to serve and assist youth, adults, and seniors of Altadena and Northwest Pasadena. The objective of the outreach learning center is to provide, without a fee, a media whereby residents will receive training in an environment that encourages exploration and discovery and through this experience, develop personal skills and SELF CONFIDENCE to improve their lifestyles.
